Small burnet is a perennial evergreen forb that grows 15-18 inches tall. It is highly preferred by deer because of its palatability and high protein content. It has been known to survive under undesirable growing conditions such as heat and drought. Small burnet is a great addition to your wildlife plantings, especially for perennial plots that you don’t want to plant every year. It can be planted alone or in a mix with other perennials such as chicory and perennial clovers.
