THE SHIPWRECK THAT CHANGED THE WORLD!
The EL CAZADOR was a Spanish Brig of War sent by King Charles III of Spain to rescue the struggling economy of the Spanish Colonies in Louisiana. It never reached its destination and the Spanish Colonies came under French Control.
It wasn't until 1993, when a fishing trawler known as "The Mistake" started pulling up the silver coins in its nets, that the fate of EL CAZADOR was learned.... In all, over 450,000 Silver Coins were recovered, mostly newly-minted 1783 Eight Reales. This 1780(Clear Date and Certified by NGC), is indeed, among the rarest of this legendary Marine Incident.
Even decades after the newly-formed United States of America purchased the Louisiana Territory from the French, coins like this were presented and accepted as U.S. DOLLARS until the late 1850's.
THIS IS A GREAT HISTORIC KEEPSAKE!
It should be a nice pickup for a passionate enthusiast of Shipwrecked Colonial Coinage.
    Good Luck!
