Imported from the UK, Hogan's Plum Pudding is filled with delicious fruit and nuts steeped in generous amounts of Whiskey and Irish Stout. Traditionally, Christmas Puddings are prepared in British households on or around Advent. As the pudding is prepared, everyone in the household, including children, make a wish as they stir the mixture.
Plum Pudding is a steamed or boiled pudding. It is made by combining nutmegs, raisins, nuts, apples, cinnamon, dates, and many other ingredients to a batter. You'll notice plums are not listed. The pre-Victorians used the word "plums" as a term for raisins. More like a cake, plum pudding has also been called plum duff. It has to be quite a treat for it to have been outlawed during the Puritan reign in England because it was considered "sinfully rich".
We recommend serving your Plum pudding with clotted, devon cream or brandy butter.
