The coin was being carried from the New World on the galleon ship the Nuestra Senora de Atocha back to Spain when it sank because of a storm near the Florida keys. The coins were hand stamped at the Potosi mint in Peru between the years of 1596 and 1621 during Phillip III's reign. The coin features the Jerusalem cross, 2 lions inside de tressure, and 2 castles. This coin comes with two informational packets about the coin, shipwreck, and excavation. Also included is a certificate of authenticity and insurance appraisal from 1995.
