Description

2 Relays 0.7" iMod Module, 5V/1A, 3.5mm Pluggable Screw Terminal
im2R-5V-TBP
The im2RL has two 5V, 1A relays with relay-driving circuitry. The relays can be controlled by 3.3V or 5V logic, making this module suitable for Modtronix boards, Arduino, AVR, Microchip PIC or nearly any other project that requires two relays.
This module makes the three relay outputs (Common, Normally Open, Normally Closed) available via a 6-pin, 3.5mm Pluggable Screw Terminal Block connector. The center pin of each relay's three is Common; left (viewing connector from above, facing up) is Normally Closed; and the right is Normally Open. They are also marked on the PCB with symbols.
2x Relay Add-on Board Features
Two 5V, 1A high-quality relays
Relay-driving and diode-protection circuitry
High-quality, 3.5mm terminal block connector consisting of a header and a plug
Can be used in an iMod port (see below)
Different pin header options available (see below)
Module dimension: 24.8 × 22.2 mm (0.975 × 0.875 inches)
High-quality Components
Only high-quality components from reputable suppliers are used in the manufacture of this module. All components have been selected to exceed the maximum rated specifications.
5V, 1A Relay: Manufacturer is either NCR, Hongfa, Hsinda, Songle, Goodsky or Toward.
100mA Digital Transistor: Manufacturer is either Infineon, NXP Semiconductors, Micro Commercial, Diodes Inc or Rohm.
Dual Diode, Common Anode, 150mA, 90V: Manufacturer is either ON Semiconductors, NXP Semiconductors, Micro Commercial or Diodes Inc.
iMod Pin Configuration
This is an
iMod
module with 0.7" pin column width, meaning it uses a standard pinout and configuration that allows it to be connected easily to any host board that has an iMod port. This includes the Modtronix
SBC83I
,
SBC66UAL
, and the various
PT66E
Prototyping Add-ons for other boards in the SBC66 series.
The pin pitch is 0.1" so you can use the module also on any typical prototyping board or breadboard.
Below is some example code for the Netcruzer (SBC66/SBC66+PT66) boards that shows how to turn
Relay
A
on and off, assuming this module is mounted in iMod
port 1.
For
Relay
B
,
you would use
Pin 5.
imod1_ConfDirPin2(OUTPUT_PIN); //Configure pin 2 of iMod 1 as an output
imod1_WritePin2(1); //Set pin 2 of iMod 1 - Turn relay on
imod1_WritePin2(0); //Clear pin 2 of iMod 1 - Turn relay off

Pin Header Options
Use the
Headers
option at the bottom of this page to select what type of pin headers you want included with the module and whether you want them included loose or pre-soldered. The default option is for common rectangular pins included
loose
(the photo above shows them soldered). All pin header types use 3mm long pins. As you can see in the photo above, two of the unused pins in the middle of one column are not installed.
Below the header option selector, you will see checkboxes for adding additional header strips (e.g. in case you want to populate all six pin pads per side), as well as socket strips that will mate with the Round Swiss pin header type. If you want to install the socket strips on your prototype so that you can plug in this module with Round Swiss pins, make sure to change and
Update
the quantity of sockets
to
2
during checkout.
