2 lbs Fresh New 2022 Black & Red Oak Tree Acorns Approx 350 Feed Squirrels Deer.
New 2022 mixed size Acorns coming to you right from our property here in SW Michigan. These are all fresh, harvested not long after falling. All mixed sizes, mostly without caps, a few caps that I couldnt take off could be in the mix. Perfect feed for all the critters. Deer love them and so do squirrels.
This listing is for 2 lbs - Approx 350 Acorns, all depending on the size of the acorns. Sound, viable acorns have been separated from the damaged or unfilled ones by placing them in water, good ones will sink. All the floating acorns are not viable as feed or planting.
Floated for Viability: not all acorns that fall from the tree are good and viable. Floating allows the good ones from the bad acorns to facilitate storage and planting.
Acorns have so many great uses, As animal feed, decorations, crafting products and even human consumption These fascinating little acorns provide nutrition to wildlife, and even today and in ancient times, to humans! An acorn itself is considered a superfood, especially for our wildlife. An acorn produces carbohydrates, fats, and proteins – all of which can provide nutrients to our wildlife.
Dont be alarmed when you first open your package, there are bound to be some weevil larva in the bag with the acorns. In the fall the fully grown acorn weevil larva chews a perfectly round 1/8 inch hole in the side of the nut and emerges. Since these are fresh and not baked, there an be weevils that have emerged from the acorn. I havent seen to many this year. But if you fish or feed birds, many love this little morsel!!
The photos are a good representation of the size and color of the acorns you will receive, though they all will not be the exact acorns in your order. All great quality.
They are ready to plant or use for deer food, Hunting or for fall holiday Decorations.
