Description

Fantastic example of this crude War of Independence issue. Neat to see die sinker guiding lines still present below the legend in some parts, as those lines were usually polished off the die prior to putting it into service. Slight off-center strike on the reverse showing complete dentils and a small portion of the planchet. Another cool feature is that half of the edge is missing the design. Neat error during edging where the coin must have slipped off one of the parallel edge dies, resulting only in half of the edge being applied. A great study piece for any War of Independence collector, especially one who enjoys seeing the the effects of the crude manufacturing processes of the period.
